Introduction

Hello! My Name is Stella Camara. I am an experienced trainer I have developed and delivered training courses in all aspects of Health & Social Care, including safeguarding of adults, dementia, first aid and many other mandatory courses.

Passionate about providing you with the knowledge required to “do better” and strive to eradicate bad practice. My approach is based on experience, facts, hands-on practice, regulatory and legal framework.

The training I deliver is insightful, focused and strives to strike a balance of “Show and tell” by using relevant examples, demonstrating and explaining the repercussions of bad practice. I am passionate about improving skills and practice.

Courses

FOOD SAFETY IN CATERING - Level 2 Award 1 Day course (6 hours)

Duration:

1 day.

Price: £55 per person

Overview:

The qualification is aimed at those working in the catering industry and other food handlers.  It can also be used as an introduction for a learner wishing to gain higher levels of training in this area.

You will gain knowledge and understanding of the key issues in food safety required to safeguard the health of consumers.  The areas covered are considered vital by the Food Standards Agency to maintain food safety and hygiene.

Certification

Written assessment is taken on completion of the course.  The test consists of multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.

Within 2 weeks of successful completion, attendees will be issued a three-year certificate.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.

Emergency FIRST AID AT WORK - Level 3 Award 1 Day course (6 hours)

Duration:

A minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities.

 

Price: £60 per person

Overview:

Businesses are required to have sufficient First Aid provision to meet compliance responsibilities.  This national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

You will acquire the skills and knowledge to provide essential basic treatment to colleagues, clients and loved ones, in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

  • AED awareness
  • Bleeding control
  • Shock
  • Burns
  • Choking
  • Minor injuries
  • Epilepsy
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid

Certification:

Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor.

Within 2 weeks of successful completion, attendees will be issued a three-year certificate.  In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all attendees undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.

FIRST AID AT WORK - Level 3 Award 3-Day course (18 hours)

Duration:

A minimum of 18 hours spread over at least three days.

Price: £150 per person

Overview:

Businesses are required to have sufficient First Aid provision to meet compliance responsibilities.  This national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This fully accredited comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

  • Resuscitation and AED awareness
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Bandaging
  • Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
  • Fractures and spinal injuries
  • Heart attacks
  • Choking
  • Control of bleeding
  • Head injuries
  • Eye injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Chest injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Burns
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Stroke

Certification

Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment.  Within 2 weeks of successful completion, a three-year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

All courses require a minimum of 7 participants and a maximum of 12. Participants will be informed by the trainer of course start dates and times.
